Jean-Jacques Vallotton

EARLY CAREER

Jean-Jacques graduated with a MSc. from University of Nice with a major in signal processing. He started his career with Steria, an IT services company, where he contributed to the development of very early financial messaging services applications. He then joined Sodem, now part of Airbus Defense and Space, where he worked on integrated circuits design and real time embedded software for neutron and space instrumentation projects.

MAJOR MILESTONES

In 1990 Jean-Jacques joined Antycip, pioneering in France the use of software for system design automation, and establishing partnerships with i-Logix’ Statemate and Comdisco Systems’ SPW, now respectively part of IBM and Synopsys. He then started and managed the European expansion of Antycip into the software simulation market and built a portfolio of commercial products and services that became a leader in the visual simulation market. Starting in 2000, after some time with Intergraph, then yet another startup, and some time working with a venture capital firm in Switzerland, Jean-Jacques developed a consulting practice

dedicated to the technology market in Europe, primarily early stage and early scaling companies. He has completed tens of transactions and mandates, including strategic planning, multi-stage financing rounds, turnarounds, IPOs, and market development in domains like aerospace, defense, avionics, medical devices, automotive, enterprise software, and many more. He co-founded Yabusame Partners with  Philippe in January 2016 with the vision to build a technology focused, internationally minded, boutique firm composed of very experienced business executives.

KEY EXPERIENCE & INTERESTS

Jean-Jacques enjoys interacting with entrepreneurs to help them achieve their objectives and is especially interested in turning technology innovations into profitable businesses. He intimately understands all the steps involved in successfully financing a venture at all its stages. He has specific interest and expertise in electronics, EDA, embedded software and matching design environments. While not working on a new project, he likes sailing in the Mediterranean, cooking and sometimes both at the same time.
